Dale J. Doumont Sr., 78, of Hickory, died Friday, August 4, 2023 at Washington Hospital.
He was born December 8, 1944 in Midway; a son of the late Joseph H. and Thelma (Raab) Doumont.
Mr. Doumont was a 1963 graduate of Fort Cherry High School.
He worked for Weirton Steel for over 40 years then worked as a school van driver for Jake Schneider Contracting up until a few months ago.
Mr. Doumont was a life member of the Mt. Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department. When his children were younger he enjoyed coaching baseball and softball. He loved to hunt, fish, play bingo, and going to the casino. Dale really enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends.
On June 26, 1965, he married Shirley L. Buxton , who passed December 27, 2018.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sherri (John) McGivern of Hickory, Lori (Butch) Shuman of Washington and Michelle (Mike) Vereb of McDonald; a son, Dale J. (Michelle) Doumont Jr. of Dearborn Heights, MI; two sisters, Jane Phillis, of Cherry Valley and Janet Cox of Oakdale; a brother Verne Doumont of Eldersville; fourteen grandchildren, Christina (J.P.) Molinaro, Melissa (Mike) Zimmerman, Nicholas (Nora) Shuman, Johnna (Cory) Wauthier, Victoria (Steven) Zaccone, Elizabeth (Ryan) Cappella, Tanner (Emily) Doumont, Rebecca (Brandon) Shuman, Susan Doumont, Pvt. Austin Rudy, Gwendlyn (Clint) Walker, Noah Vereb, Wyatt Vereb and Gunnar Vereb; and seven great grandchildren, Charlie and Jameson Molinaro, Bailey Shuman and Waylynn, Halle, and Quinn Zimmerman and Theo Wauthier.
Deceased are a grandson, Dillon Doumont and a brother, Glen Doumont.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8PM pm Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Nation Funeral Home Inc. 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057, where services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 11, 2023. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
