Wilson E. Mcwreath, Sr.

February 8, 1930 — December 24, 2016

Wilson E. “Will” McWreath Sr., 86, of McDonald, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Curahealth Hospital, Oakdale.

He was born February 8, 1930 in North Fayette Township, a son of Guy A. and Mary (Elliott) McWreath Sr.

Mr. McWreath was a 1948 graduate of McDonald High School.

He began working on his family’s farm at the age of 10 and for the next 25 years worked as a farmer. In 1965, he began working as a cutter for the Joseph T. Ryerson and Sons steel mill located in Carnegie. He worked there until his retirement in 1992.

Mr. McWreath was a member of the McDonald Presbyterian Church and the United Steel Workers of America.

He enjoyed taking care of the family farm. He worked on his tractor, tinkered with equipment and maintained the barn and sheds. Like most men, the way to their heart is through their stomach and Will was no exception. Whether he was eating his wife’s cooking or going out to eat, he found pleasure in a good meal.

On October 5, 1957, he married Betty J. Caldwell, who survives.

McWreath, Jr. of Midway; a sister, Alice F. Herman of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Melanie Isaac (husband Cyril), Jessie, Jarrod and Jordan Crawford; and a great grandson, Toby Isaac.
