William "Bill" Hardie Descutner, born on August 16, 1951, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2026. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Bill was the cherished son of the late John C. Sr. and Ruth Hardie Descutner. A graduate of Fort Cherry High School, Bill excelled in football, earning the prestigious title of the 1969 Black Hills Conference Lineman of the Year. His passion for the game was evident as he was the only player notably selected on both all-conference teams recognized by the Pittsburgh Press and Pittsburgh Post Gazette, a commendable achievement that showcased his athletic prowess.

After high school, Bill dedicated his career to the steel industry as a Millwright, working at J&L Steel and Universal Stainless in Bridgeville before retiring in 2014. His commitment to his profession was a testament to his work ethic and craftsmanship.

Outside of his professional life, Bill nurtured passions that enriched his life. He was an active member of the McDonald Belgium Club and enjoyed the great outdoors through hunting and fishing. Once an adventurous spirit, he also loved skiing and took great pleasure in riding his motorcycle. These hobbies provided him with joy and a sense of community, allowing him to create cherished memories with friends and family.

Bill's family was of utmost importance to him. He is survived by his son, David L. (Kaci) Descutner, his two grandchildren, Kylee Descutner and Mason Allison. His sister, Mary Catherine Garrett, Sister in law, Louise Descutner and several nieces and nephews. Their love and support were a constant source of strength for him.

In addition to his surviving family, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, John C. Descutner Jr., and his brother-in-law, Thomas Garrett.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2026, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Services located at 218-220 East Lincoln Ave, McDonald, PA 15057. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM. These gatherings will allow family and friends to come together in remembrance of Bill, celebrating the life he lived and the memories he created.

William "Bill" Hardie Descutner leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and adventure, forever etched in the hearts of those he cherished.

His absence leaves a void that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
