Tara Elaine Causey, 47, of Midway, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born to the late Dee McCarty and Linsey Bennett, Tara was a proud graduate of Fort Cherry High School.
She is survived by her two sons, Dustin and Ryan, and her longtime partner, JP Stankowski. Tara was a beloved sister to Chad (Mary) Bennett and Stacy Bennett; cherished aunt to Amanda (Jake) Ewing, Kristy Bennett, Julie Bennett, Brandon (Jenna) Bennett, Peyton Bennett and Steven (Kayla) Plavetzky; and a special “Aunt T” to her great-nephews, Andrew and Anthony Plavetzky, and Silas and Kyler Ewing — her “little buddies.” Despite her allergies, she adored her German Shepherd, Cooper, and her cat, Zippy.
Tara had a fierce loyalty to those she loved and a heart that never gave up on people. She valued connection, defended those she cared about, and brought intensity and passion to every corner of her life. She died on her mother’s birthday — a quiet, full-circle moment — and we take comfort in knowing they are together again.
A memorial service will be held at McDonald Presbyterian Church, Calvary Center (119 Station St., McDonald) on July 12 at 12 PM, followed by a luncheon and time to share memories and stories at Trinity Center.
In lieu of flowers, consider supporting the GoFundMe campaign which will aid in covering funeral expenses.
