Richard Allan "Shorty" Phillips, 65, of McDonald died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at St. Clair Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 18, 1950 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Richard Adam and Florence June (Stevenson) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a 1968 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a pressman for Knepper Press in Clinton where he retired from in 2014. He worked in printing the majority of his life.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the McDonald V.F.D. where he was a past officer, a member of the Washington County, Western PA and PA Firemen’s Associations, and a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club
He enjoyed riding motorcycle, golfing and spending time with his granddaughter.
Surviving are a son, Richard Allan (Jennifer) Phillips, Jr. of McDonald; a sister, Wendy Phillips Jenkins of Aliquippa; a granddaughter, Brianna McCormick; 1 niece and 2 great nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Richard Allen and Donald William Phillips.
Friends will be received from 2 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24 at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald. A fireman’s service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nation Funeral Home on behalf of the family.
