Raymond L. "Butch" Abbott Sr., a loving father and devoted friend, passed away on January 27, 2025, at his residence. Born on January 8, 1944, in Bulger, PA, Butch was a cherished member of his community and a respected figure in his field.

Butch dedicated 25 years of his professional life as a Superintendent for Shenango Steel in Neville Island. His commitment to excellence did not end there; he continued to contribute to the workforce at One Day Sign in Carnegie for an additional 15 years. He was highly regarded for his work ethic and leadership, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with.

A proud graduate of Burgettstown High School, Butch carried the spirit of learning and growth throughout his entire life. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests, including trips to the Meadows Casino and traveling north with his daughter Jody, to visit his daughter Kimberly (Fred) Evans, his granddaughter Christina (Jarrod) Floyd, and his great granddaughter Alexa. Butch also cherished his time spent hunting with his son, Raymond L. (Missy) Abbott Jr., during his younger years. Family was central to his life, with many fond memories created through the time spent together.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly (Fred) Evans and Jody Nichols; his son, Raymond L. (Missy) Abbott Jr.; a sister, Rosetta Semerod; a granddaughter, Christina (Jarrod) Floyd; and a great-granddaughter, Alexa Floyd. These family members will remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for the love and kindness he consistently demonstrated.

Butch was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy C. Salmon, whom he married on May 11, 1965. Nancy, who passed away on August 12, 2022, was a significant part of his life, and their bond will forever be honored by their family.

Butch's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the memories they shared. He will be dearly remembered by all who knew him.
