Mary Ann Krakosh Clark Cooper
Mary Ann Cooper, 89, of Hickory, formerly of McDonald and Moon Township, died December 26, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born February 2, 1936 in McDonald, the eldest of four children of the late Frank and Anna Mikco Krakosh.
She was Pentecostal. Mrs. Cooper was a 1954 graduate of Cecil High School and attended Pinkerton Business College in Pittsburgh. She was employed by American Cyanamid Company in Bridgeville. In 1958 she married Thomas F. Clark who died August 23, 1970. She was the leader of THEOS (They Help Each Other Spiritually) which she formed in Moon Township for a few years. This was a group for widows and widowers to help cope with their loss. In 1972 she was employed by Koppers Chemicals Co. Inc. in Bridgeville. In 1989 they were sold to Reichhold Chemicals Inc. and worked there until she retired. In 1990 she married Gary D. Cooper.
Mrs. Cooper began crocheting, knitting, and embroidery and quilt making when she was ten years old which she loved to do up until she passed. She made mittens and toys and gave other personal gifts which she donated to Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army, and other charitable organizations for those in need. She felt it was better to give than receive. She loved making towels for her family and friends. She also loved oil painting and watching the Penguins, Pirates and Steelers.
Surviving are her husband Gary D. Cooper, a daughter Mary Ellen Hunsberger of Moon Township, sons Thomas M. Clark of Delaware, Jeffrey J. Clark and Frank D. Clark of Crescent Township, step-children James Cooper of New Kensington, Dennis (Lisa) Cooper of Burgettstown, and Sharon (Jeff) Allison of Hickory; 6 grandchildren TJ (Tammy) Hunsberger, April (Kyle) Filipczyk, Laura (Joe DiBucci) Hunsberger, Matthew (Kelsi) Hunsberger, Brandy (Josh) Foersch, Jamie (Nate) Quick, 4 step-grandchildren Dennis and Shane Cooper, and Jesse and Sarah Allison; 14 great grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild; her sister Dianne Gavazzi of Cape Coral, Florida, and brother Frank (Edna) Krakosh, Jr. of Washington.
Deceased in addition to her parents and first husband are a sister Rose Marie Yerkey of Cecil, a favorite cousin Elizabeth (Betty Lou) Majernik of Aliquippa, a son Daniel Clark and stepson Jason Cooper.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 30, 2025 in Graff-Nation Funeral & Cremation Services, 218-220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057 where services officiated by Rev. Wayne Jackson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 31, 2025. She will be buried near her parents and other family members in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Cooper’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Samaritan’s Purse Ministry.
