Kathleen A. Schmidt

Kathleen A. Schmidt, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend entered into the presence of the Lord at age 72, on Saturday, May 30, 2026. 

She was born October 25, 1953 in Pittsburgh; a daughter of the late Paul and Harriet (Earl) Homer. She graduated from St. Basil High School in Carrick, class of 1971. 

Kathleen, a devoted follower of Christ, enjoyed reading her bible and books, shopping, watching movies, playing bingo, making crafts, talking with her friends, and donating to various charitable organizations. Above all, she treasured her time spent with her children and grandchildren. 

She is reunited in heaven with her late husband, the love of her life, John Peter Schmidt, whom she married on November 25, 1972.

Surviving is a son John P. (Amy) Schmidt; a daughter Nicole A. (Brian) Novotny; four grandchildren, Greta and Anna Schmidt and Grant and Brett Novotny; three brothers Edward, Paul and Kenneth (Nancy) Homer and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  

At the request of Kathleen all services are private and entrusted to Graff- Nation Funeral and Cremation Service, 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057. She was laid to rest with her husband John at Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald PA.

She is now at peace in the arms of her Savior
