Jane Marshall McRae, 93, of McDonald, died Friday, May 23, 2014, in Washington Hospital.
She was born February 8, 1921, in Enlow, a daughter of the late Charles and Zula Madge Robinson Marshall.
Mrs. McRae was a graduate of Indiana State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in home economics. She was a teacher at Cecil Junior High School for 23 years, before retiring in 1988. Prior to teaching, she worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Extension Office through Pennsylvania State University for six years.
She was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon, choir member and past president of the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of McDonald Garden Club and Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and a 4-H volunteer.
On June 11, 1949, she married Donald R. McRae, who died November 29, 1976.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Jane (J. Michael) Lemmon of Huntington, N.Y., and Mary Louise McRae of Sapphire, N.C.; a son, C. Rodger (Joyce) McRae of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, A. Michael (Nicole) McRae, David (Kristin) McRae, Allison (Tony) Wright, Rachael (Thomas) Nau, Joel McRae Lemmon, Tara Raquel Lemmon and Anna Lauren Lemmon; and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Donnie Marshall McRae.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 with the Rev. Justin Amsler, pastor of McDonald Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
