James L. Johnson, 67, of McDonald died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Washington Hospital.
He was born December 11, 1946 in Frederick, MD, the son of the late James Clinton and Ruth V. (Catron) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked in Plant Management at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and retired in 2008.
He was a member of the U.M.W.A., H.O.G. (Harley Ownership Group), A.B.A.T.E. (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) and the American Legion in North Beach, MD. He loved his dog “Mercedes,” enjoyed fishing and had a passion for riding Harleys. His favorite snacks were Reese’s Cups and Lance Crackers.
On May 6, 1989, he married Kimberly Whitfield, who died on Aug. 3, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Joseph) Havelka of McDonald and Tammy J. (Terry) Bain of Oakdale; a son, James D. (Dena) Johnson of McDonald; four grandchildren, Jess Bain, Matthew, Maddie and Samantha Johnson; and a great granddaughter, Aaliyah Johnson.
Deceased is a brother, Thomas Johnson.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., the time of services at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald.
