Gilbert R. Kovach, 82, of McDonald, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born March 4, 1935 in Imperial, a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Turscan) Kovach.
Mr. Kovach was the founder of Kovach Body Shop in McDonald and operated the business until his retirement in 2000.
He enjoyed watching classic movies, boating, vacations at the shore, surfing the internet and watching Steeler football. Most of all, he loved time spent with his family and his grandchildren.
On June 3, 1959, he married Elsie L. James, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sandra (the late Paul J.) McCloud, Patricia L. (Dayne M. Sr.) Crowley and Jennifer L. (Christopher D.) Goodwin, all of McDonald; a son, Timothy W. (Kimberly A.) Kovach of McDonald; nine grandchildren, Julia McCloud, Daniel (Robyn) Kovach, Nicole (Aric) Toth, Dariann (Richard) Wirth, Dayne Crowley, Jr., Kyle Crowley, Abigayle Goodwin, McKinley Goodwin and Ethan Goodwin.
Deceased are ten brothers; and a great grandson, Lucas Crowley.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 with Rev. Justin Amsler, pastor of McDonald Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to McDonald Meals On Wheels, 202 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057.
