Gerald "Dago" Maroni, age 74 formerly of Midway, passed on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

He was born on April 20, 1952 in Washington, Pa.; the son of Ido and Mary Besnak Maroni.

Jerry was a graduate of Burgettstown High School where he wrestled and played football. He then worked for Weirton Steel where he eventually retired.

During retirement, Jerry and his girlfriend Linda Sedar moved to The Villages in Florida where he would always say he was "living a dream".  He loved golfing, swimming, listening to bands, enjoying food from the garden, cruising around on the golf cart, and traveling.

No matter who came to visit, especially his grandson, he made sure they had the best time.  He adored his grandson Luca and loved watching him wrestle and play football. Jerry was also a die-hard fan of Pitt Panther football.

One thing everyone knew about Jerry was how proud he was of his kids and he made sure they knew it.

Surviving is a son Michael Maroni; a daughter Shea (Phillip) Thompson; a sister Bonnie Skarupa (Mark Fulmer) and a grandson Luca Maroni.

Deceased is a sister Patricia Knisley and niece Melissa Skarupa Ramsey.
