Frank “Franner” Kulak, 94, of Sturgeon, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born December 1, 1921, a son of the late John and Mary (Buydasz) Kulak.
Mr. Kulak served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He worked as a steel worker at the former Bethlehem Steel in Leetsdale for 40 years and retired in 1976.
Mr. Kulak was a member of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Noblestown.
He enjoyed hunting and working around the yard. He was an avid fan of local high school sports and always sat at the top of the bleachers. He also was a fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams.
On September 5, 1949, he married Genevieve M. “Jennie” Slovick, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary (Denise) Kulak of Birmingham, MI; a daughter, Kathy (Paul) Demnyan of McDonald; two sisters, Mary (Dave) Hemke and Caroline (John) Sulanowski, both of McDonald; and a brother, Ted Kulak of McDonald.
Deceased are four brothers, John, Walter, Thomas and William Kulak; and a step-sister, Stella Hays.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, Noblestown, with Rev. William J. Schwartz, Chaplain to the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club and Brighton Rehabilitation Center, Beaver, celebrant. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township. Memorial contributions are requested to St. Patrick R.C. Church, 7322 Noblestown Rd, Oakdale, PA 15071.
