Frances J. Stanish

Frances J. Stanish, age 83, of McDonald, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. She was born on July 4, 1943, in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Margaret (Homonick) Kabo.

Frances was an independent, resilient, and strong woman. She taught her children how to cook, bake, craft, and so much more. She instilled kindness in everyone she met and lived with remarkable perseverance, reminding those she loved, "You can do anything if you want to do it." She enjoyed antiques, music, good food, and bingo, and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She spent the last three years living with her daughter Ann and family, who cared for her with the same compassion she had always shown to others.

Surviving are her four children, Dora M. (Joseph) Tokarski, Ann M. (Tim) Garry, Robin M. (Chris) Gedman, and Joseph (Tammy) Stanish; her sister, Patricia Mattie; 18 grandchildren, including her eldest granddaughter, Gennifer (Brad) Schultz, who was more like a daughter to her; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kabo Jr.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Service, 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 219 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Burgettstown, PA, with a luncheon celebration afterward at St. Alphonsus.
