Evelyn Jean Smith, 85, of McDonald, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Consulate Retirement Village of Canonsburg.
She was born June 15, 1931 in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Danton and the late Hazel (Sparkenbaugh) Lacotte.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.
She was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church, McDonald-Cecil Senior Citizens and South Fayette Township Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards, but she valued family above all else.
On June 30, 1951, she married Raymond B. Smith, Sr., who survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (Mark) Hall of New Castle; two sons, Raymond Bruce (Debbie) Smith, Jr. of Pleasant Gap and Randy (Julie) Smith of Sinking Spring; a sister, Charlotte Cool of Clinton; five grandchildren Curtis and Clayton Smith, Kathryn Hall, Stephanie and Matthew Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Ella and Sydney Smith.
Deceased are a brother, Harry Lacotte; two sisters, Marie Whear and Dorothy Terensky; and a half brother, Henry Hunter.
Friends will be received from 1 – 4 and from 6 – 9 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 with Rev. Justin Amsler, pastor of McDonald Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
