Emmy Lou Ducray of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania passed away, at the age of 96, on June 11, 2026.
Emmy Lou was born on August 22, 1929 in Canton, Ohio to James Donaldson "JD" and Mabel (McBeth) Gladden.
She attended Westminster College and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. She married Leon Augustus Ducray, Jr. on September 26, 1953. Emmy Lou taught elementary school in Elmhurst, Illinois and Dormont, Pennsylvania for 3 years before working side by side with her husband, Leon, in their interior design business, Ducray Interiors, for 51 years.
She was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon. Emmy Lou was also instrumental in the improvement and development of the Beverly Road Business District, where their business resided. She demonstrated her serving spirit throughout the community.
Emmy Lou is survived by her loving husband, Leon A. Ducray, Jr., to whom she was married to for 72 years. She also leaves behind two sons, Mark Donaldson Ducray (Laura) and Douglas Gladden Ducray (Cheryl). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Kelly Ducray Bryan (Patrick), Kevin Ducray, and Nicole Ducray, along with the joys of her life, her great-grandchildren Leighton Bryan and Sutton Bryan.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Southminster Presbyterian Church 799 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10:00 am at Robinson Run Cemetery, 504 Sunset Lane in McDonald, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to UPM Hillman Cancer Center, Pittsburgh (Giving Page) or Southminster Presbyterian Church.
