Eleane A. Makrush, 82, of McDonald, died Friday, February 24, 2012 at Donnell House of Washington.
She was born October 2, 1929 in McDonald, a daughter of August and Eva (Roberts) Tournay.
Mrs. Makrush worked as a cashier at IKEA in Robinson for 15 years before retiring in 2008.
She was a member of Iron’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, McDonald, where she was an elder. She also was a member of the Red Hats in Midway and was a volunteer at Canonsburg General Hospital.
On June 15, 1946, she married Joseph Makrush, who died November 3, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley J. (Ralph) Schwartz of Mukwonago, WI and Karen M. (William) Gilbert of Houston; two sons, Robert H. (Janet) Makrush of Lake City and Thomas A. (Daryl) Makrush of McDonald; a sister, Rachel Tyhurst of Roswell, NM; nine grandchildren, Gary and Ralph Schwartz, Amy Combs, Bobbie Jo and Brian Makrush, Melissa Robinson, Thomas Makrush, Jr., Michelle Karmann and William Gilbert.
Deceased are four brothers, William, Verne, John and Robert Tournay; a sister, Lillian Lewton; and a grandson, Robert Makrush.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 12-3 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 27th with Rev. Charles Puff officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
