Betty A. Foley, 91, a beloved figure in her community and cherished family matriarch, passed away on February 19, 2025, on the family farm. Born on October 19, 1933, in Hanover Township; a daughter of Victor and Anna Dragnet Pershina. She was a dedicated dairy farmer for 26 years, working diligently at the Foley farm where she took great pride in raising superior cattle. Betty exemplified hard work and commitment, traits that she carried with her throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Midway High School, Betty went on to cultivate a rich life filled with love, family, and passion. On April 18, 1953, she married Louis Putnam"Put" Foley II, and together they created a nurturing home for their eight children: Elizabeth Ann (the late Pete) Borovich, Robert S. (Penny) Foley, Diana Karen Bock, Susan Jane Foley, and David M. Foley (late Brenda). Betty is preceded in death by three sons, Louis "Lucky" Putnam III, Charles "Bimbo" Foley Sr., and infant son Wayne Michael Foley. She also mourned the loss of two sisters, Frances Palmer and Kathy Orr, as well as two grandchildren. Their memories lived on in her heart and continue to resonate within her family. Her devotion to her family was paramount and shaped her desires in life.

Betty’s love extended beyond her immediate family.  She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy See and Barbara Gedman, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom carries a piece of her legacy forward. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her interests were diverse, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Cooking, canning, baking, gardening, feeding her birds and animals were among her many hobbies, reflecting her nurturing spirit. Additionally, Betty enjoyed going out to eat, savoring the moments spent with loved ones over shared meals.

We would like to thank Via Quest Hospice for their compassionate care in her last months along with her special caregiver, Sarah Mitchell.
