Allan R. Thomassy, known as “Big AL, Horseface, and Monk “ passed on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

He was born on April 5, 1942 in McDonald; a son of Fenand and Marion Allan Thomassy.

Allan was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School class of 1960. He also attended Pitt where he was on the Track and field team.

Mr. Thomassy was a Supervisor for US Steel in Clairton. He also worked for State Chemical.

On October 18, 1997 he married, Rosanne “Rosie” Marcedes who survives.

Mr. Thomassy was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. He was a big bear of a man. During high school and college he was on the track and field team where he held records in the sport. He loved to play golf and loved the horses. His friends and family will miss his big presence and wonderful smile. He truly was a charmer.

Surviving are three children, Allan Thomassy Jr. of Johnstown, PA, Shelly (Kevin) Krygier of Marco Island, FL, and Cathy Thomassy of McDonald; a siter Marion (Dick) Root of The Villages, FL; two brothers Fernand (Joan) Thomassy of The Villages FL and Dr. John (Evelyn) Thomassy of Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Ron (Kadie) Tkach, Max (Jasmine) Thomassy and Abrielle (Max)McCartney; two great grandchildren, Emma Kai and Willow Grace; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research or the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Nation Funeral Home Inc. 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057
